Addictions
Alcohol, drugs, pornography, social media, tech — addiction as worship-disorder and the Christian recovery tradition.
Primary Theological Framework
Addiction is not merely a willpower problem nor merely a disease — it is a worship disorder (Augustinian framework), a bondage of the will (Luther/Calvin), and a form of idolatry (Tim Keller). Recovery is not merely abstinence but the reorientation of desire itself toward God, the source for which desire was designed. Theology leads; empirical data illuminates.
